We are pleased to share a new resource from our partner, A Way Home Canada: the Family and Natural Supports (FNS) Operations Manual.
Developed by A Way Home Canada in collaboration with Stephen Gaetz from the Canadian Observatory on Homelessness, the manual responds to growing interest in Family and Natural Supports approaches across Canada, the United States, and Europe. As communities continue to adopt and expand FNS programming, this practical and evidence-informed guide offers valuable support for implementation.
Drawing on more than seven years of research, FNS pilot programmes and direct work with young people, the manual provides step-by-step guidance on FNS programme design, planning, implementation and evaluation. It is intended to help organisations and communities strengthen youth homelessness prevention efforts through meaningful engagement with family and natural support networks.
We encourage our partners and wider network to explore this resource and consider how it may support local youth homelessness prevention initiatives.
