Communites of Practice

The Communities of Practice are regular meetings organised by the Hub to foster knowledge sharing among frontline workers, managers, and anyone interested in Housing First across Europe and beyond. These sessions provide a space to strengthen participants’ skills while exploring key challenges and solutions together.

Typically held once every month or two, each meeting focuses on a Housing First principle, a target group (such as youth or women), or practical issues like finding housing or managing programmes. By gathering diverse perspectives, participants can share expertise and build collective learning.

Through these ongoing exchanges, the Communities of Practice help strengthen services, encourage collaboration, and support the long-term growth of Housing First.

Train the Trainer Programme

Train-the-Trainer is an annual educational programme designed to develop a European pool of trainers who are skilled in delivering Housing First training. Its goal is to ensure organisations have access to experienced facilitators who can build capacity across countries and sectors.

Each year, around 25 participants from across Europe and beyond come together for three intensive sessions in different cities. The curriculum, based on the Housing First Europe Guide, equips trainers to deliver high-quality modules on a wide range of Housing First topics.

The curriculum is based on the Housing First Europe Guide (which is now available in multiple languages here). The call for application for the Train-the-Trainer Cohort 7  is now closed.

Knowledge and Advocacy Network

The Knowledge and Advocacy Network builds the evidence base needed to make Housing First successful and supports advocacy at all levels of governance. It brings together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to share insights and promote data-driven decision-making.

The network focuses on two key areas: ensuring effective information flows on Housing First and advancing data collection, research, and knowledge mobilisation. This collaborative platform strengthens advocacy efforts by connecting expertise and ensuring that evidence informs policies and practice.

Through activities such as the Research Digest and regular webinars with international experts, the network helps advance understanding on issues like harm reduction, prevention, and tailored approaches for specific groups.
