Sveriges Stadsmissioner

The Swedish City Missions (Stadsmissioner) were established in 2007 for people living in vulnerability and poverty In Sweden, and consist of the regional city missions in Eskilstuna, Gothenburg, Kalmar, Linköping, Skåne, Stockholm, Umeå, Uppsala, Västerås and Örebro. It is a member organization that promotes fundraising and advocacy work for socially vulnerable groups in Sweden. The funds raised go both to the joint projects of the city missions and to the activities of the local city missions, to (a) support and develop diaconal/social assistance and humanitarian aid work in Sweden, and (b) conduct advocacy on the basis of an idea policy platform within the purpose.

In spring 2018, The Swedish City Missions started a project called Swedish Housing first HUB (www.bostadforst.se). By disseminating information, educating and providing knowledge, influencing politicians and decision-makers, the Swedish City Missions want to increase the number of municipalities, city missions and other non-profit actors working with Housing first in Sweden.
